Issue #2, March 31, 2009
Hello again, this is issue #2 of the FutureRP monthly newsletter!
In this issue, I will lay out the plans for the coming month - we have quite a lot planned, so I'll keep it brief and focus to the major stuff.
To begin with I must express my condolences to the friends and family of the player we know as Metalteo. He passed away earlier in the month, to the shock of many of us. His account has been frozen for a few months, to prevent it going inactive.
On a lighter note, look what we have in store this month:
- The end of the old skill system, which will be replaced with a new, more expandable feature known as Abilities.
- More quests added to existing locations. We know this is something that is greatly anticipated.
- The introduction (at last) of the Mining profession!
- Vendors: NPC Merchants that will buy your junk items with Credits!
- A brand new, custom built chat room with support for bots, multiple rooms and more.
- Spacial Raiding: Raiding will receive an overhaul that requires raiding guild members to travel to the location of the raid. Each Boss NPC (the thing you raid) has a limit on the size of the raiding party, so the guild leaders will be able to choose the people they'd like to enter into the raid. You can move to the location of the raid up to 72 hours in advance, which is a lot more convenient than having to be on-line at the time of the raid. In addition, because your members will be scattered across the galaxy, the limit on guild membership will be raised from thirty members to one hundred or more!

Every item in the game is being given a type/subtype category, which will be used for a number of purposes, including:
- Trade Block: The new trading page will allow you to browse by item type to make it easier to find what you're looking for.
- Weapon Skills: Each weapon is placed under a special type, from Rifle to Melee. It will be possible to become skilled in a specific type of weapon, thereby making your account more powerful.
Three professions that have been in and out of circulation will be added by the end of the week.
Fishing will be first. It will receive a few changes to the way it works, along with adding support for fishing items to boost your angling skill!
In addition, there will be a new fishing location installed and more species of fish to catch!
Two new features were added to the game today:
- Player Notebook
-- Create notes for things that you need to remember, sort them by priority, classify by type: e.g. Idea, To-do, IOU, Statistics, Reminder.
- Point Trading
-- A dedicated point trading page has been created under ACTIONS/Point Trading, which allows players to post their Point selling offers, including the number of Credits they want per point. Anyone can buy their Points from them and the money is sent to the seller's bank account.

There has also been a minor menu change.
- Manage Professions is now under WORLD
- Upgrade Items is now under UPGRADES
- My Hitlist is now under CHARACTER.
